New Year, New Website Projects!

With 2012 well underway it is time to take stock of what has been a fantastic 2011. KN Media have developed new client relationships which are proving to be interesting to work on and productive for the client.

Already back into the swing of things following the Christmas break, KN Media have launched 5 new websites in just 2 weeks! The first of the fabulous 5 is an application for Versadock International, a worldwide company who manufacturer and sell their floating pontoons for marinas or private clients and drive on docks suitable for ribs with single or twin engines and jet skis or PWC's.

The bespoke application allows a customer to select from a huge range of options in a concise format whilst providing a real time summary depending on customer selection. A truly useful and fun application to use. Already in the brief time that this has been live, many users have found this to be a quick solution to their requirements with the provision of information supplied automatically. In addition, KN Media have produced a series of websites for the New Forest based digger and tool hire company, Dial a Digger. The first website was designed and launched to promote the new mini tractor hire service that Dial a Digger are now offering. A more specific tractor hire website solely for hiring out the mini tractor in the Sway, Lymington, New Milton, Brockenhurst, Ashurst, Cadnam, Southampton, Winchester, Salisbury and Bournemouth areas. The tractor comes as standard with a full set of buckets although there is a comprehensive range of attachments available to suit all jobs from flailing to post banging.

With only just over 4 weeks until Christmas Day, there is the usual last minute rush on for gifts. Over the last 10 years ecommerce has gone from being a slow novelty to an essential for any serious business.

Selling products online now accounts for over 40% of all gift purchases during the Christmas Period (source Wikipedia) and with statistics like that you cannot afford to miss out.

Newly launched iCan Art have developed a range of distance learning art courses for artists of all abilities. Their range of courses are now complimented with a Gift Voucher scheme allowing friends and relatives to buy something a little different for budding artists. Looking ahead this winter, KN Media have been working on Versadock.com with a totally fresh design and online marketing strategy in place, all due to go live this December. New clients for KN Media this autumn include Versadock International Limited, a manufacturer, supplier and retailer for their market leading floating pontoon solutions. Following a well received launch several years ago of their sucessful website, the Wessex Womens Network commissioned KN Media to carry out a modernisation program to include restructuring and redesign. Digital photography and manipulation was much in need for a continuing project for www.engineeringwithlight.com. The high level of design and finish demanded by the quality of these outdoor lighting products meant that KN Media had to work on studio product images from the SUPPLIER that were not up to scratch! Other new projects currently under way include a digital product delivery ecommerce website for Dr of Fine Art, Yvonne Jones. Dr Jones has been working on a distance learning art course for many years which is now ready for publication and sale. The system is under development and will be launched later this month.

GavaghanJones Chartered Surveyors approached KN Media requiring a full redesign of their current website. Other news from KN Media includes the development of our new, long anticipated website launch. The issue has been working for clients against our own corporate image. New website design projects have been appearing from a range of clients so far this summer. KN Media Limited have been approached by Gorgeous Retail of Chichester to design, produce and host a full ecommerce website to showcase and sell some of their favourite, gorgeous gifts. Searched for and found via the internet (a result of good SEO on our part!), the project is estimated to take around 8 weeks to complete and will be an exciting addition to the world wide web. The sun is shining and you are thinking of your summer holiday so why concentrate on your website now? Surely a better time to be considering ways to improve your website would be in the depths of winter when you couldnt really go outside even if you wanted to. Well think again...

When most people's thoughts are of long sunny evenings sipping their favourite drink, you can get ahead of the game by developing your website ready for the winter. More people spend more time in front of their computers in the winter which makes sense when you think about it - outside its cold and grey, inside you can emerse yourself in your chosen genre of website for hours at a time. Forget about trapsing around the shops, you can sit in the warmth of your own home and choose almost anything you want with a few taps of the keyboard.

By taking a long term view you can position yourself well above your competitors who will often be in the traditional mindset of moving with the seasons. This is great when you dont have to think about search engine optimisation, photographic product or lifetstyle shots and commissioning your web designer to complete your winter campaign in plenty of time.

With easter upon us, KN Media has continued to hatch new projects. Clients include Southern Jet Wash, a UHP (ultra high pressure) and standard jet wash cleaning company specialising in exterior refurbishment of footpaths, driveways, patios and decking. Elsewhere KN Media have been instructed by internationally renowned music production company KMG (Kinetic Management Group) to design their new website. With a brief to make the website accessible to its current clients as well as appealing to its new clients, we have a clean and modern design underway. Launch date for this project is due end of April 2011.

In the world of flowers, Blooms of Winchester are held in great esteem. Delivering flowers across Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire, Blooms instructed KN Media to enhance their search engine positioning for key phrases such as order flowers online and flower shop Southampton. Results are coming in and early indication suggest the campaign is a massive success with top 3 placements across the board. In addition, new designs of www.westgateflorists.co.uk and www.fleursflorists.co.uk will be complete and launched by mid April.

On a personal note, the Director of KN Media Limited has been launching a campaign to raise awareness to baby and infant resuscitation training. Following a near miss cot death event with their youngest daughter, there was a realisation that adequate resuscitation training had not been made easily available. Autumn heralds exciting projects ahead

With the summer coming to an end, KN Media have secured several projects for the upcoming months. New websites will need designing for the Forest Language Academy FLA, a residential language school based in the New Forest. Pupils from all over Europe will stay at a partner hotel whilst learning the basics of English.

Elsewhere on our design radar is the upcoming launch of our new website for Delta Rubber, ESM or electrical safety matting. ESM is a small scale ecommerce website with online payments taken via PayPal. The website focuses purely on the sale of electrical safety mats in a variety of lengths meeting legal specifications. Nationwide delivery is also available on all electrical safety matting products purchased via the website. Future projects for Delta Rubber include specialist website development for sales of each of the bespoke rubber products manufactured including rubber extrusions and rubber profiles.

When local guest house Burwood Lodge required a new website, they contacted KN Media Limited. With a competitive quote and personable service, KN Media were chosen and the project is now in its early stages with a completion date expected in October 2010.

The exciting Yenz Chinese Restaurant project is coming to fruition with a launch date due by October 1st. A wordpress based website, Yenz Chinese Restaurant boasts an online takeaway order request system, a table reservation system, full interactive Google Map integration and some gorgeous imagery. Renouned locally for its' quality of food, service and contemporary style, Yenz required the website to reflect their ethos. The results will be available to see soon at http://www.yenzchineserestaurant.co.uk/.

Due to authentic Chinese Chefs preparing food in the traditional way, Yenz requested an incoming takeaway order notification system which displayed orders in full Chinese. KN Media have developed a strategy for the Chefs to automatically receive incoming orders via print off, in full Chinese. This may seem like an easy solution with the likes of Google Translate available but Chinese is a complex language and the Google Translate option did not fit the bill, often mistranslating and causing confusion! After consultation with Yenz, a fully functioning solution is now in place, an achievement we are proud of.

For images throughout the new Yenz Chinese Restaurant and Takeaway in Brockenhurst, Yenz requested an evening visit from KN Media. Fantastic images were captured and are in full view throughout the new website.

The Watersplash Hotel in Brockenhurst commissioned KN Media to carry out a full redesign and incorporate an interactive online booking calendar. The website was launched this week and is successfully interacting and pulling in enquiries from new clients in this highly competitive area. Internal photography as seen on the website was undertaken by KN Media and incorporated as required throughout the website.

Search engine sucess

With many of our website clients requiring search engine optimisation, KN Media Limited are pleased to report sucess with the following recent campaigns.

Delta Rubber specialise in all aspects of manufacturing rubber. In particular they specified an importance should be placed on electrical safety matting. KN Media Limited pushed this keyword phrase and have achieved a top 2 position for the search phrase electrical safety matting on Google. Delta Rubber have seen enquiries increase as a direct result of the gained exposure.

Zimara ladies fashion shop in Lymington, Hampshire, required a top listing in Google for the search phrase "Zimara". This may at first seem easy until you consider that there is a long established company called Zimara with a world wide presence which we were competing against! After a 2 month program, Zimara is now listed as number one on Google with the business owner "delighted". View the Zimara website here.

Quest Timber Products Limited manufacture hardwood gates, design hardwood gates and install them too. With their attention to detail and working purely in hardwood and using high quality hinges and gate posts, Quest Timber Products have an enviable reputation, view their gallery to see examples of fine hardwood gates. KN Media Limited were commissioned to gain exposure on Google for the search phase "hardwood gates". With a concentrated program in place, Quest Timber Products can now be found in the top 2 on Google.

July website updates from KN Media

With the summer well under way, KN Media have been commissioned to redesign the Cloud Hotel website, one of the best AA rated hotels in the New Forest. Located directly opposite the open New Forest, The Cloud Hotel has a reputation for friendly service in comfortable, peaceful surroundings.

The project will be designed incorporating a content management system, giving the staff at The Cloud Hotel the opportunity to maintain their own website. KN Media will be retained for general support including I.T. support for the Hotel systems. The launch date for the new website is August 2010, watch this space for more information!

Updated this month include Zimara fashion of Lymington. Zimara are having their summer 2010 clothes sale including brands such as Blue Willis, Gottex Swimwear and Gideon Oberson. Within the Zimara sale range are clothing including blouses, skirts, trousers and of course swimwear. Visit the Zimara fashion website for more information.

Elsewhere, KN Media are actively promoting iPhone application development. With this popular form of publishing becoming more widely used via iPhones, several clients have expressed an interest in such a product. To cover all angles, we offer this service using the Android platform too. This ensures that no matter what smart phone your client uses, they will be able to access your information.

With a portfolio of property to manage, Longdown Management Limited has commissioned KN Media to integrate a solution into their Joomla powered website that will enable the upload of properties and information in a simple format. Following meetings, a solution has been identified and implemented with launch due early August 2010.

Following the last post relating to Samplekandi (online samples, beats and loops download website), there has been progress with an Apple.com style interface implemented combined with Flash music player integration. In addition, Samplekandi have commmissioned full ecommerce functionality, membership area and integral email marketing solutions. Project completion date due September 2010.

Latest projects to be commissioned include the website design, corporate image design and full hosting for GavaghanJones LLP chartered surveyors and property/real estate consultancy. The design requires an approachable but professional feel that reflects both the regional and international experience of the company. Launch date due August 2010.

With Christmas in the back of most peoples minds, the forward thinking Montagu Arms Hotel at Beaulieu has put together its Christmas and New Year 2010 packages for breaks and parties. KN Media Limited were asked to create and upload information on Christmas Party rates, room rates, exclusive party venue usage, New Years Eve breaks in the New Forest information and link through to a useful Christmas and New Year 2010 hotel breaks brochure.

Search engine optimisation and new websites

With June arriving, so have requests for search engine optimisation. New website design projects include Chris Goddard Plumbing and Heating, a Lymington based plumbing and heating specialist with an eye for detail. Specific design criteria has been received and we look forward to launching a great website early July.

Valueflora, the online flower shop with low prices and fantastic flowers has commissioned KN Media to push specified keywords and offers. Having worked with Valueflora previously, KN Media have been asked to pick up where we left off and promote their website. Keyphrases identified are "cheap flowers", "order flowers online" and "cheap flower deliveries". Updates to the search engine organic results will be posted on this blog.

Other new clients include Delta Rubber, a local manufacturing and supply company based in New Milton offering a range of rubber products and related manufacturing solutions to individuals and larger companies such as Rolls Royce and the Ministry of Defence. Their ambition is consolidated with a push on the search engines for their products and services, with KN Media Limited hired to fulfill their requirements.

Finally, Bulkley Construction have commissioned KN Media to design their new website. A small construction company, Bulkley Construction specialise in developments of around 3 or 4 homes at a time. More details will follow in our next post.

Elsewhere, KN Media have been working with Empress Towel Rails, an electric towel rail manufacturer based in Southampton. Empress supply their electric towel rails to UK customers and to distributers overseas. Established over 50 years, all of their electric heated products come with a 5 year guarantee as standard. Bespoke towel rails can be made to match high end bathroom designs and even come in a real gold finish! As part of their marketing campaign, Empress commissioned KN Media Limited to design and develop a content management system that could alternate between a direct sales engine and a quotation system as needed. A specific requirement was to incorporate the ability to block viewers in certain countries from viewing their prices so as to protect overseas sales outlets from undercut prices.

Summer arrives in the New Forest at last

With such a long winter finally coming to an end, KN Media Limited are looking forward to some long sunny days ahead working on new and exciting projects.

Details Jewellery is well under way with photography being supplied by the client. When the photography arrives we will be in a position to make the push towards completion. The website is a contemporary jewellery website which will be run by the client using a comprehensive content management system including an ecommerce facility.

New for the summer is a project involving Samplekandi.com. Set up by the renowned dance label musicians at Duffnote.com (Danny Jones and Richard Earnshaw no less!), Samplekandi.com will be a modern website offering sample music for download. The website will comprise of 3 projects initially, each hand picked by these top industry professionals for their uniqueness and quality. Launch for the new website is due around August/September 2010.

Icelandic volcano has no impact on project delivery!

With the Icelandic volcano in the news, KN Media are delighted to report an explosion in enquiries. April 2010 has proven to be a great month so far with projects including ecommerce, content management systems, basic websites and digital photography undertaken.

New Forest Timber Solutions continue to enjoy sucess with their building contractors work throughout Lymington and the New Forest. KN Media have been covering two of their bespoke house building projects in the New Forest with digital photography and website updates every two weeks. The houses really are beginning to look impressive and are both built to private clients architectural plans.

Following a particularly busy winter time designing, testing, launching and promoting various website projects, KN Media have recently completed the K and N Alloy Wheels website. The clean design is in keeping with the main company website (K and N Finishers Limited) and promotes the professional and efficient service offered. Amongst the many points that set K and N Finishers apart from their competitors is their Collect and Return service for clients within the Southampton and Portsmouth area. This service means that clients can request a driver from K and N Finishers collects the alloy wheels, car parts or specialist item to be resprayed. Following completion of the commmissioned work, the items are returned to the original collection address all free of charge! The website is already listing in the top 10 on Google for the search terms alloy wheel resprays, and is number 1 for alloy wheel resprays Southampton!!

Other website projects completed since the last KN Media blog post include JSS Scaffolding, Face The Music, Duffnote and DC Electrical.

JSS Scaffolding required an informative website that showed their expertise across many areas of scaffold requirements, particularly the challanging marine scaffolding environment. Despite having the capacity to accommodate large scale scaffolding projects, JSS Scaffolding work on smaller scaffold projects including domestic and commercial such as the major IKEA build in Southampton. With a service area covering Hampshire and Dorset, Bournemouth to Portsmouth and Southampton, JSS Scaffolding have the expertise to assist with any scaffolding project. Reaction to the new website has been positive and a search engine optimisation programme will follow - updates will be posted here over the coming months.

Face The Music are a Newforest based musical gift and giftware shop with an outlet in Burley, Hampshire. Having had an online shop for many years, the request was made to KN Media to upgrade their website including the content management and online payments system. A pleasure to work with, Face The Music gave clear instruction on what was required. Including the ecommerce website design, database transfer and import was required to bring the existing stock and associated settings over to the new website. Launch has been sucessful with sales proving the website is performing as expected.

Following the last post from KN Media, the new website for DC-Electrical is complete. A clean and aesthetically pleasing website, DC-Electrical is a professional electrical and security installation company based in Bournemouth covering Dorset and Hampshire including Southampton and all areas inbetween.

This week we have secured design contracts for three local businesses. DC Electrical of Bournemouth provide electrical and security services within the Bournemouth/Dorset area. They require a clean, modern website that will appeal to both their domestic clients and commercial/industrial clients who generally command medium term contractual work. Specialising in high quality clothing for ladies, the website must reflect the quality that their clients have become used to. The client specified a need to maintain the website inhouse so we will be developing a content management system. The website must be easily upgradable to incorporate ecommerce at a future date.
